The Disciples of Christ congregation
was established in 1830 by Alexander Campbell. The Church was built
in 1841 by Lewis Wernwag (who also built the Wernwag House, next door).
The church was remodeled in 1891. The first full-time minister
of the church was co-founder Walter Scott, from 1850 to 1852.
