The May’s Lick Asparagus Festival announces the Asparagus Art Show & Contest for this year on May 21^st, 2005. The exhibit is open to all ages, and every form of art is encouraged, including: painting, sculpture, photography, folk-art, mixed-media, 3-d, fresh & floral, costume & hats, performance art, and other forms yet to be discovered. Works must be original and include asparagus in any form. Imaginative use of the Asparagus theme is the most important factor in judging the art, whether of a serious or humorous nature. Artists may price their work and have it for sale if desired.

The works of art will be displayed in the beautiful May’s Lick Presbyterian Church. Built in the 1870's, the church has high arching windows and natural light which makes a wonderful gallery for the art displayed. The room is filled with fresh flowers from local gardens and their spring scents.

Judging will take place Saturday May 21^st at 1 pm at the May’s Lick Presbyterian Church.

Prizes and Awards of Asparagus nature will be given and much honor bestowed upon all entries.

Art works should be taken to May’s Lick Market by May 18^th . (606-763-6823 Market phone)

Artists from out-of-town who wish to attend the festival, may bring their artwork with them the day of the festival (before 11:30 am.) (Please send application before May 18^th to let us know you’re coming.)

Fresh & Floral displays may be delivered the day of show. Costumes and Hats can show up at the 2 pm judging at the Presbyterian Church on May 21^st. Call Jennifer Gleason (606) 763-6827 for further information.
